DISCOVER THE ZEST WAY

WHAT DOES 50 METRES OF QUEUE MEAN?
Last week at MICE 2025, something happened.
People queued.
Not for freebies. Not for merch. But for flavour. For a feeling.
Some queues reached 50 meters. Others looped back on themselves. No big promises. No tricks.
Just people—baristas, café owners, roasters, farmers—lining up for something they felt they had to experience.
And they told us:
“You guys are the centre of the show”
“The energy on your stand is unreal”
“You care. It shows”
“Best coffee on the show”
“Zest is so famous – I just had to try it”
“You all seem so… happy?”
Why?
Because what people saw on our stand wasn’t a show.
It was just… us. Zest. Concentrated.
Let’s break it down. Because I’ve been thinking.
What does it take to become Australia’s Favourite Coffee Roaster (as voted by the 31,708 people that attended MICE)?
It’s not just about good coffee. (Although… our coffee was next level.)
It’s not just a pretty stand. (It was stunning, yes.)
It’s the people. It’s our team. Our tribe. Our family. And here’s six attributes they carried into that space that I couldn’t fail to be impressed by:
-
HUMAN – real people, genuinely loving people
-
HAPPY – that contagious, can’t-fake-it energy
-
HELPFUL – wanting others to win
-
HUMBLE – approachable, unpretentious, warm
-
HARDWORKING – grinding behind the bar without ego
-
HUNGRY – not settling, always pushing, always doing
And those values? They’re not just for shows. They’re how we show up every day. For every café. Every cup. Every partner we serve.
Our Signature Drinks Bar wasn’t just theatre—it was proof. Proof that creativity draws customers. Proof that cafés can add value to every cup, increase margin, and create experiences people rave about.
Game of Tongues wasn’t a gimmick. It was strategy. It drew more than 1000 people into the world of flavour. It showed how Zest doesn’t just serve coffee—we educate palates and inspire curiosity.
The Brew Bar was next level. Flights of rare and exotic coffees. Australian grown experiments. Years of collaboration with farmers condensed into flavour bombs. That’s what flavour obsession looks like.
And the Espresso Bar? That’s home base. Consistency. Crowd-pleasing reliability. Blends that taste as good at MICE as they do on your café’s busiest Saturday morning.
So here’s the thing I’m still thinking about:
What if the energy on our stand—the flavour, the smiles, the vibe—isn’t just for events like MICE? What if that could be your café?
What if the people queued for your drinks, not because they were told to—but because something about your café pulled them in?
What if flavour became your people magnet?
What if your coffee supplier didn’t just drop off beans, but brought energy, support, innovation, and real partnership to your team?
Zest at MICE was a glimpse. A preview of what’s possible. Of who we are. Of what café success can look and feel like.
The question is…
What does your café feel like right now?
Is it energising? Exciting? Evolving?
Or is it time to talk?
